After a great show earlier this evening with Fay Presto (which will be online soon), the gents at Resonance FM and myself had a chat and decided that it was best to put the last show back one week, to the 23rd June.

There’s a couple of reasons for this, mainly due to the fact that Resonance is having to undergo some emergency work on the studios for a week, starting on 15th June until 22nd June.

There’s also the fact that 16th June (when the show was originally due to go out) is the opening night of a new play that I’m performing in at The Union Theatre. For all the info, check out Upstart-Theatre.co.uk or MatthewDuggan.co.uk.

All of this means that moving the last show – with John Van Der Put as my guest – makes sense. So tune in to the show on 23rd June. In the meantime, check out all the previous episodes via iTunes or by clicking on Podcast Episodes.

Hello folks!

Just wanted to let all you regular listeners know that the podcasts of shows 6, 7 and 8 will be out this weekend, along with all the details of the guests. I’ll also be updating the site with details of my last two shows in the series.

The reason for the delay in podcasts is partly due to a few issues at Resonance FM, but also due to me working on a couple of other projects at the same time as the radio show, namely my acting career. For details of those upcoming projects, check out www.MatthewDuggan.co.uk.

In previous episodes of The Magic News, we’ve mentioned shows by John Van Der Put and the troupe of StandNotAmazed, who blend magic, theatre and dance to create fantastic shows.

Well, I just got an e-mail from John telling me of his latest performance at the Tristan Bates Theatre in central London this coming Saturday 16th May at midnight as part of the Midnight Matinees series. John and co. will be presenting 20 minutes of material and will be perfoming alongside work by Forbidden Theatre and Theatrical Response Group. All this wonderful theatre for just £5.

I’m delighted to announce that the quite literally legendary Paul Daniels will be appearing on the show tomorrow, Tuesday 12th May.

Paul will be on the phone talking to us about TV magic and his glittering career. We’ll discuss the new wave of TV magic from the likes of David Blaine and Criss Angel as well as how magic is created for TV instead of for stage.
